With the increase of “multigenerational living” and those wanting to “age in place,” now is the time to learn about the principles of Universal Design and how it can address the changing needs of older adults.

Whether for an ADU (accessory dwelling unit), a home renovation, or new home build, the use of Universal Design elements is essential to provide a living environment that is safe, comfortable, and functional.
Topics include:
- The origin, benefits, and seven basic principles of Universal Design
- Common UD features that make a home safer, easy to use, and aesthetically pleasing
- How Universal Design can support multigenerational living and form a solid foundation to “Age In Place”
- How Universal Design can address the needs of an aging population
